Dirty ‘ol Dad:

Aviva’s dad shocked everyone with his dirty talk. He really is an aging nympho but as Aviva has put it, “there is never a dull moment”. Sonja makes it very clear she is not interested (although she was set up with him). There is a scene where Sonja and Ramona act like lesbians in the bathroom upstairs at Aviva’s house. Mario is leering all over Sonja. It was bizarre to watch. Carole confronted LuAnn back in NYC about the tacky borrowing of the dress incident with her friends. Lu doesn’t understand her reaction, but kudos to Carole for stating her mind in a mature way (not always the case on Housewives shows).

You Want to What Me in the Rear?

A business meeting is held at Sonja’s home. Ramona is already there and Heather shows up with her crew. Heather is shocked because she didn’t get the warning about R’s presence. Discussions flare up over the correct logo for Sonja. Much back and forth goes around, egos are strong, and everyone knows what is best for Sonja. At the end, Heather is not happy about R’s presence.

Next scene, Ramona and Mario are very dressed up to meet everyone at dinner that they are hosting, which is at Le Cirque, a 5 star restaurant. Heather was not invited, but everyone else was, including LuAnn and Jacques, who made a social faux pas, according to Carole, because Lu said she was Indian and everyone knows they are Native Americans. LuAnn, whose father was a Cherokee, didn’t really feel it was necessary to be scolded and made jokes about scalping people. She felt she can say what she wanted because, after all, this is her heritage. I agree and no, she was not going to be intimidated by Carole. After they get beyond this, Mario makes a clear point to Jacques: never make fun of his wife again. It was good he stood up up for his wife, but Ramona was a little embarrassed by his display at the dinner table. Fade out…hope they were able to relax after that massively uncomfortable moment and enjoy their dinner and wine.

Bravo Clip:

Flash to Aviva taking her son to go meet his dad, Harry Rubin, at work. It was a good family moment, Dad showing what he does for a living. Harrison, their son, looked like he had a lot of fun and it was good for the parents to be cordial in front of their kid.

LuAnn and Sonja are out having a lunch and a good heart-to-heart girl talk. Lu tells her she wants a baby to keep Jacques and make him happy. Sonja is supportive about whatever decision she decides to make and after all LuAnn is an adult, so what else can she be but a good friend?

At Sonja’s photo shoot, LuAnn showed up first, but shortly thereafter Sonja showed up. Heather and her designer friend immediately confronted Sonja for having Ramona there at that one meeting, which made them feel uncomfortable. H had every right to explain her frustration and Sonja pushes back by saying she didn’t like how they handled their first meeting. Heather immediately jumped up to go get LuAnn, their mutual friend, to help create peace. Then Sonja felt a little put off because she felt it was a bit much, but Lu had a great point, “Why would she bring Ramona to a meeting when she knows Heather and her don’t get along?”. Thankfully they all end on a peaceful note, an agreement to do the shoot and Sonja will choose which pictures she wants to use.

Bonus clip from Bravo:

A holiday party is being thrown by LuAnn, which is a charity drive with everyone bringing coats for the needy. Lu does ask Ramona if she is upset about the wine party she threw and it was not meant to be mean spirited. She wants it to be cleared up and they both decide to put it behind them. Everyone else shows up soon thereafter. It takes no time, but Sonja looks very drunk and she pulls a Ramona, meaning she was yelling that Jacques needs to marry LuAnn and then she starts crying. Ramona is the voice of reason and tells her “She made her point now let it rest”. Whew, that was uncomfortable. Clearly Sonja has been feeling very emotional lately, but the holidays certainly can bring that out in people. They really do heighten everything, not to mention alcohol.

Bravo Clip:

During the middle of the party, LuAnn wants all the ladies sing “Jingle Bells” which had me LOL, until the band started shouting really inappropriate things which was “I want to f*** you in the ass”. Carole thought it was hilarious but the rest, especially for that crowd, were mortified. The End for now…until the next show when we see the continuation of the holiday gathering.

From Bravo:

Blinded by the Wine:

Ah, Lu – the Queen of the Unpretentious (not). Sex addict fathers who are very over the top (poor Aviva) and practical jokes being played on a couple of the women was the theme of this show.

Carole, Aviva and Sonja meet Ramona for lunch. At first the conversation was all about London and what happened. Ramona was expecting to hear the dirt on Heather, but instead LuAnn drove everyone nuts, which she appreciated hearing. And then Aviva dropped her big bomb, she wanted to invite them to Miami and introduce her sex addict dad to Sonja. Wait what? Shocked the hell out of the ladies and if I hadn’t seen the preview I would’ve felt the same sense of initial shock.

Bonus clip from Bravo with Sonja and Ramona:

Heather meets with a designer James Bernard to help Sonja with developing her brand. Sonja joins them looking very chic (cool hat she wore, I mean really cool). Rightfully so, Sonja becomes apprehensive when she realizes he has not looked at her site or knows who she is. After all, he is there to help her promote her brand. As she put it, “I thought it was malarkey”. Who uses that word anymore? LOVE it! But more importantly, Sonja is truly nervous because she is working under a time line and this man doesn’t know who she is – talk about calling in for a favor (which Heather did) and better to pay someone for their time.

Next scene is LuAnn and Jacques hosting a wine tasting event. What a fun time they all had, and a learning lesson as well about how to taste wine. Heather was blindfolded when she tasted the wine to help with her senses, but Ramona refused when it was her turn. Ramona was awesome and knew all the fragrances. Lo and behold, knew it was her wine she was tasting and they had set her up, but hats off to her, she laughed and played along with it.

Clip from Bravo:

Flash to Miami, where we see Reid, Aviva, her sex addict father and then Reid’s mother, Marilyn, showed up to join them. Aviva explained that her mother died 6 years ago, and feels he is now overcompensating for his life by being an older man playboy type. She admits it is “sick”. Then, over dinner, he makes a very funny statement. Reid talks to his mom about what she does in Boca Raton (well known Jewish retirement community that my grandparents and aunt/uncle lived near for many years). She tells him she plays golf, etc. etc. Then they ask Reid’s father what he does and his response was, “Are you crazy? I don’t go to Boca. That is God’s waiting room to die. It is a Hebrew home for the old age”. Aviva is very embarrassed but as she put it (after she tells him she is setting him up with Sonja), “There is never a dull moment with my dad. He is direct and to the point”. Apparently, true that and why she would set up her friend with him has to be some sort of…I don’t know, producer’s intervention?

Clip from Bravo:

Next morning, Aviva and Reid get their condo set up for Ramona and Mario. First thing, Ramona says to her on the phone is “she feels like she is on spring break” and wants champagne and Pinot. Aviva is a little nervous because she is “not much of a drinker” and hopes the trip goes well.

Flash to Heather and Aviva walking around downtown. They passed a boutique with a well-known woman who does eyebrow waxing. GREAT SCENE for all the women out there – as Lu put it, “It hurts like a bitch!”. Yes, it does. I concur. During their waxing scene, LuAnn tells her that Aviva invited the group to Miami, but not Heather. As Heather put it, “That’s like calling the kettle black”. Then Heather tells her that because Sonja feels short, she would prefer walking into places before them because “short people should walk into the room first”. And she confirms Carole felt the same way, but she was trying to tell LuAnn she has a very overwhelming personality. Heather was as decorous as possible, but LuAnn felt like it was just a bonding moment between the two other women and didn’t take it too seriously. As Heather put it, “It went right over her eyebrows”. Oh, snap.

Back in Miami, Carole is meeting her famous jewelry designer friend, Ranjana Khan at her place. Carole tells her about her book turning into a TV show. Ranjana tells her about how she met LuAnn, who apparently really wanted to met her. During this meeting, she actually asked him, her husband, to borrow a dress. Carole was really upset because it was a bit much to ask them for a dress. To sum it up, per Carole, “She can be quite a diva”. And…needs to bring it down a few notches. Seriously, come on, LuAnn – you are not royalty!!

Off to Aviva, Reid and Ramona/Mario out having dinner. Ramona blew me away with the way she ordered her food – very particular. After some wine, Aviva confirms that she felt it was rude of LuAnn at the wine tasting to set her up to try and trap her with her OWN wine. It was just a practical joke, albeit I can see how it could also be hurtful, but I don’t think it was some mean-spirited thing that she did to Ramona. Mario definitely felt the same way as Aviva and made fun of Jacque’s
“Pepe Lepue” accent. Why did Aviva bring that up and upset Ramona? Is Aviva passive aggressive? CLEARLY that is only going to make things worse between the two, which is troubled enough. Then, for complete and total high hilarity purposes, Aviva had ordered the Kobe Dog at the restaurant which was about a foot long. It was rather obscene and something her father told her to order at this restaurant. Now THAT was a practical joke that was also sick! We leave the show with Aviva just putting her hands in her face looking very embarrassed. Why why why why why why is she introducing her father to ANY of her friends, unless she doesn’t like them? Or maybe she really is just clueless? WTH?!

Stay tuned for the next show…looks like lots of sparks fly!

Good Trip, Bad Fall:

LuAnn is the one upper and Carole isn’t taking it anymore. Heather and Ramona go at it like high schoolers, but that is mainly due to Heather provoking Ramona, which is  completely immature. Sonja throws a party in a beautiful place for Aviva and Reid, but where/how/why did she get that talent? Can’t wait to see what she says about that on the reunion show at the end of the season!

The ladies are in London and Sonja starts her day with filling up a bidet with a bucket full of ice and putting her face in it. Apparently, it was refreshing, but at this end, it was funny to watch. LuAnn begins the day with bugging Carole by waking her up but not only THAT, but she is wearing a cape, clearly following C’s look (such a big no-no!). Needless to say, Carole was not impressed. They all ride in a car to go play Croquet. Carole mentions (not sure how this came up) that her mother had 5 kids and LuAnn one ups her by saying HER mother had 7 kids and the only way she got through it was with Valium. LuAnn is very competitive with Carole and clearly the stage is being set – its not going to go well between them. Before this conversation, C says it it is a good thing that L didn’t walk in the bedroom (she really did just barge in) while she “was touching herself” and still this does not shut her up. She talks about her friend who always uses a “hand held”.

Flash to NYC and where Aviva is going to throw her party, which is at the Empire Room. She takes Ramona and they both fall in love with the place. I have to admit, so do I. It is very, very 1930′s chic and Sonja’s idea. They definitely agree this is where the party is going to happen.

And back to London: the ladies are going to play Croquet, courtesy of Sonja. LuAnn is very competitive, which makes Carole more aggressive and she wins the game to spite LuAnn.

That night, the ladies go out for drinks and dinner. Sonja is hilarious as she takes off her gloves. She then talks about her party coming up that she has to plan and she is a little nervous. The ladies comfort her and give support. Conversation turns to Carole publishing a book and of course LuAnn brags about her autobiographical book, which riles Carole WHO IS AN ACCLAIMED NEWYORK TIMES BEST SELLING AUTHOR. Carole messes with her a bit and starts talking about all the sports she played and one ups LuAnn, who just doesn’t seem to get it. Both Carole and Sonja take a break to go the ladies room and Heather tries to talk to LuAnn about how she is rubbing everyone the wrong way. She, LuAnn, doesn’t want to hear it and says so many women are jealous of her. Heather is a little put off by her response. Switching the mood to being more upbeat and positive, after a few drinks they all decide to go dancing to just have some fun their last night there.

Clip from Bravo:

Back to the Big Apple, Sonja is at the Empire Room. She chose the singer, flowers and how the place was going to be set up for the big night.

Bonus clip from Bravo regarding Carole and living downtown:

Aviva and Carole meet at a salon to get ready for the big party. They talk about the trip and C tells A about how much LuAnn tried to one up her all the time. They agree that their conversation stays in the salon, but Aviva got it loud and clear, LuAnn is all about her.

At the party, everything is done very beautifully, courtesy of Sonja, however there was not much food served. And then the performers do the their performance, which was more like a a downtown kind of nightclub vaudeville act. It was odd and out of place, no doubt, but everyone clapped to be polite. It was a very sexy performance all around, but it was NOT the right kind of show. WHAT was Sonja thinking? Moving on, Reid gives a beautiful speech to his wife, but thanks Carole for helping with writing it (which wasn’t supposed to be made public that he got help), therefore making it a little awkward for Carole AND Aviva. Whoops!

Bravo Clip:

Heather and Ramona have a chance to talk and clear the air about why they are clashing. R says to Heather she is a fake because she talked about her behind her back and then walks away from her. They keep apart from each other, but Heather follows her around to instigate more of an argument and just to provoke Ramona. They start arguing and voices are raised. Even Ramona thanked LuAnn for being straight with her. To give Ramona even more credit, she did say she didn’t think it was the time/place to talk about their strained relationship but Heather did push her. COME ON, Heather, “holla!” if you know you are in the wrong and just being a bitch. Peace out, yo.

LuAnn says Heather is “gangster chic”. Personally, I agree, for better or worse. And for me to side with Ramona about how to handle an argument speaks volumes because normally she is out of control, but this time, pul-lease, Heather was a piece of work. Well, it’ll make for some an interesting TV.

I’m UK, You’re UK:

A recap in a NY minute:

All the ladies went to London and I loved Carole being snarky at times. LuAnn was definitely rubbing her the wrong way at times, which will be an interesting set up for next week because Carole will speak her mind and LuAnn is not the type to back down.

Back in The Big Apple, Ramona and Aviva bond over shopping, even though Ramona practically had a heart attack when she saw Aviva’s prosthetic leg for the first time. The salesman looked pretty horrified by R’s unfiltered response.
Clip from Bravo:

However, they get together with their husbands over dinner and talk about Heather. Ramona feels she is insecure and both Aviva and her agree they “don’t like b.s.” which would be in reference to Heather.

In Londontown, after all the women had one night out at a fancy dinner party Heather threw, they stayed in and ordered room service. My kinda night in!!

The one night out so far, clip from Bravo:

They do mention Ramona and clearly LuAnn and H are not fans, so Sonja felt a little defense. Carole stayed out of it. It wasn’t too much, but am sure if L and H were left alone, they would have had a bitch fest about Ramona. All the ladies drink their vino and have a blast chatting about men, secret wishes and all around girl talk.

The Cool Girls:

Most of this episode was based on how Ramona dealt with being excluded from the London trip. In a NY nutshell, she was hurt. We never do leave our teenage years in some ways.

Aviva and Heather meet on a bench in Central Park. As much as she tried to, Aviva couldn’t convince Heather to invite her. Heather put it succinctly when she said she didn’t want someone with “an unfiltered mouth around her business associates”. It’s true that our gal who loves the Pinot might just talk too much at an event, and (understandably so), Heather didn’t want to take that risk, however the REAL truth is she felt hurt by what Ramona said in a previous episode and finds her to not be her style. Ramona does need to let it go for her own good. I know, I know, easier said than done. Aviva’s heart is in the right place and I am growing to really like her throughout this whole episode. She was the outcast as a child because of her handicap and doesn’t like to see others feel the same way.

Across town, LuAnn is getting acupuncture in attempt to try and have a baby. Cool to see her go the ultra-holistic route, but weird to see her try so hard and not face the reality of age. But heck, if the two of them want a baby, more power to them. She said she felt something in her tummy as as she was prodded with needles. Hope it is not menopause..ahem.

We get to see Jax, Heather’s son, at the doctor’s for his check up because the poor kid was born with a really rare liver disease as a baby. Its touching to see how he responds to the doctor, he is only 7 years old now, who ends up giving very positive feedback about his health. Heather is, of course, thrilled and talks about how she is actively involved in donor donation organizations, which is what saved her son’s life.

In another world altogether, Sonja is with her interns. She has a fabulous sense of humor, but let us not forget she had 5 houses and a yacht at one point in time. It was somewhat of a poignant scene, as she reminisced about the good ‘ol days and found out that apparently E-Harmony finds her to be “unmatchable” via one of her interns. Oy vey! She handled that news very well by quipping something like, “Honey, I don’t need that service to tell me that, got that right!” but with a laugh and in typical Sonja-like fashion.

In the middle of all of this, there is a scene where Sonja and Aviva end up meeting for lunch. Aviva wants to make sure they all know she feels bad for Ramona and realizes Sonja and her are good friends, so she wanted to talk to someone who knows R very well. Sonja makes it clear that she and Ramona can let it all hang out with each other, but not everyone is invited to everything and “didn’t we learn that in the 5th grade at birthday parties?”. She is right and this would be WAY worse if it was Sonja hosting the London trip, not Heather. Its interesting to see how brash Ramona can be to others but is obviously very sensitive! And let it be known again during this scene, Sonja is starting her own catering business. Right there on the spot, Aviva asks if she could cater an upcoming party she and Reid are having to celebrate their 5th year anniversary. Interesting twist and glad Aviva is handling it so well with her being on the show knowing she had sex with her ex husband (then again, who hasn’t from what the tabloids say). Sonja graciously accepts the offer, but is a little nervous because it is about two days after they get back from London and she would like more time.

Clip from Bravo:

The ultra cool Carole goes on a date with a handsome, young fashion designer. She likes him enough, but this was really all in the name of “research” as she writes her book on dating. Also, he used the word “pussy” that was made loud enough for everyone to capture, but a-la foreigner used it in the WRONG context and didn’t mean it the way it came out. How embarrassing!! But back to Carole, that woman has so much self confidence it is amazing. Her boyfriend, the rock-n-roll one in Aerosmith, and how they maintain an open relationship…not for everyone, but she has certainly lived enough to know what she wants and is really enjoyable to watch on screen. She is open, honest, funny and just doesn’t care what other people think. She had a good laugh at his serious faux pas and was able to brush it off before she said good night to him.

Toward the end of the episode, Ramona and Carole meet for lunch because R is seeking advice from “peace loving” C. It is not a bad idea but it is too bad she didn’t listen to Carole’s advice, which was “don’t corner her” when they all go on their shopping spree.

From Bravo:

As the ladies meet at a store downtown, the politeness doesn’t last too long. Carole, Aviva, Ramona and Heather are there trying on clothes. However. C runs out to talk to her agent on the phone during a typical, Ramona-like style confrontation. She pulls Heather aside and said to her, “I was told by Aviva your feelings were hurt about the comment I made about your father and that is why you didn’t invite me”. WHOA!!!! Did Aviva give her permission to say that? Doubt it because Aviva was “thrown under the bus” as Heather put it, and Aviva looked a little nonplussed. Heather felt like she was cornered –and she WAS –it is “Not her style to just directly tell someone she doesn’t like them” so she tried to put it as delicately as she could. She didn’t want Ramona to come because the trip was “just an intimate gathering”. All things being fair, I did watch Alex McCord say on RumerFlix that this “ ..is a first on any RH series, for someone to plan a trip and not invite all the housewives”. So, that being the case, this is a real doozie for Ramona and we’ve all felt like that at one time or another, excluded from the cool kids. Obviously Heather is not concerned with what is considered socially acceptable and will reap whatever outcome this brings…should be an interesting mix of drama and good times on the way!!

From Bravo:

As we end this episode, Carole comes running back in to tell the ladies that her book will be made into a TV series and she is ECSTATIC!! Everyone is thrilled for her, of course, and Ramona does kinda look like she is on a “pogo stick” (Heather’s words) as she screams, yells and hugs Carole congratulating her on her good news. And tries to one up her by saying her Pinot will be sold in Targets around the nation. Can I get a “what what?!” for Ramona? Seriously, it was funny/kinda pathetic to announce it then and there. Ok, back to the real star – Carole’s book turned into a TV series, can’t wait to watch!!

On a final note, oh please don’t let there be another friends divorce on a housewives Reality TV show. It is obvious that Ramona and Sonja are headed for hard times and at the end of the day, Ramona was really there for Sonja, as well as Bethenny for that matter. She might be Brash with a capital B but she has a heart of gold when it comes to her friends.

Clip from Bravo about how Ramona feels about Heather:
